Descrizione
Morfologia
The entrance measures 0.4 m x 1.75 m and is located in a stream. The main gallery lies beneath the stream. The cave appears to have no continuation beyond -9.
Idrologia
The cave acts as a sink. The maximum flood level is at the -3.5 m mark, toward the end of the gallery. The owner of la Guérarde, having diverted the waters of the stream near the grotte aux Limaces (Record no. 2053135) into the latter, was surprised to see, within a few hours, the waters resurface at the grotte du Sphinx. Lying in a stream bed, could it have become blocked by the sand inside?
