Descrizione
Morfologia
This cavity is a fine example of a paleo-conduit carved at the base of a layer of glinting limestone (calcarenite), at the contact with the underlying marly limestones.
The ceiling has very characteristic erosion forms in "bells" and "domes" that are often aligned along joints (subvertical fractures).
Idrologia
The water that carved this cave came from the "paleo-Cévennes" several million years ago, at a time when the plain of Pompignan did not yet exist.
