Grotte des Stalactites

The entrance at the foot of a small cliff leads directly into a small chamber. At the end of this chamber, a constriction introduces a low gallery with a heavily decorated ceiling. After a few tens of metres in a small passage, one must pass through a relatively severe but short constriction.

One then reaches a mini junction: on the right, a narrow network appears to communicate with the surface. On the left, the gallery (galerie du Bosquet) widens slightly to a chamber once prettily decorated. There, a large calcified block obstructs the gallery, and one must pass beneath it to regain the original gallery. This then widens to become, after a low passage, a fine meander up to the large junction.

At this point, three different branches are to be noted. On the left, a gallery of fine dimensions ends quickly at a chimney blocked by a calcite plug. On the right, after crossing a gour, one reaches a labyrinthine network made up of meanders that have undergone significant clay filling. In the continuation of the gallery, a mid-height opening introduces the rest of the network.

After passing through small meanders, one arrives in a chamber. At its end, a fairly severe constriction leads to a narrow gallery about twenty metres long, “Broadway”. One then emerges into a labyrinthine network, decorated but muddy and of larger dimensions, “Tataouïne les bains”.
