Descrizione
Morfologia
The first two openings, which are 1 metre and 2 metres wide respectively, give access to the same narrow, low gallery that continues for about ten metres. The main gallery begins with an abri sous roche widely open to the north-east (l = 10 m). It continues as a gallery oriented north-east/south-west (l = 1 m; h = 1 m50). After 20 metres, it ends in a squeeze. The fourth opening (1 = 3 m.) continues as a gallery that narrows and ends after 10 m. All these galleries, irregular and more or less anastomosed, are heavily eroded, dry and partly sanded up.
Concrezioni
These galleries have no concretions.
Idrologia
Like those of Caucalières, the grottes de la Bernussarié were carved by the Thoré and are flooded during high water. Of little speleological interest, they show the progressive downcutting of the river bed.
