Descrizione
Morfologia
This is a cave in a diaclase formed in the limestone strata of the draille de l'Escandorgue. The gallery, 80 m long, takes the form of a long angular passage constantly changing direction, varying between 1 m and 2.5 m in width for a height of 4 to 8 m. It has 2 entrances about fifty metres apart that open into a diaclase. Both entrances are developed, with low walls and staircases of about ten steps. The second entrance gives access to a small chamber of about 10 x 4 m. In the passage, blocks on the floor and a few hidden small cavities can be noted.
Concrezioni
The gallery is partly decorated with speleothems.
Idrologia
A cold draught is strongly felt at the first entrance (estimated temperature 13 to 15 °C). Damp clay is present in some sections.
Progressione
The visit is made as a NW-SE through trip in P+5 (ascending gallery of 5 m). After 60 m, one reaches an inner door that at the time must have marked the usable limit of the cave for cheese ripening.
