Grotte-Aven de la Forêt des Fanges (J)

The entrance is cluttered with large blocks (metric order) as well as A stalagmitic column; it gives access to A short sloping gallery (NNW). The floor consists of clay and gravel. At the end of the gallery (11 m of development for 2 m of drop), one reaches the top of A shaft (elevation -5), while in its middle A chimney allows reaching elevation +3. The shaft A 7 m deep. One arrives in A chamber about ten metres long made up of two parts. The upper part is sloping, its floor strewn with stones; the lower part constitutes the lowest point, at elevation -18 m. The lower part is cluttered with A stalagmitic floor; note in this regard the break in the floor (NE-W) that determines the collapse of the floor. A fairly large clay mass lies beneath this floor.

Access to the shaft is hindered by stalagmitic columns. In the upper part of the chamber, one can note the presence of A large stalagmitic column 5 m high with A diameter of 1.5 m. The upper part is separated from the lower part of this chamber by A set of fused stalagmitic columns (two accesses: one to the North, the other to the South). The lower part is adorned with speleothems, either massive or finer, such as spaghettis discovered in the side passage after digging out.
