Gouffre du Ponchin

The pit begins with a 45-metre shaft split into 2 parts: the 1st part is oval and opens onto a spacious ledge, the 2nd part, cylindrical, ends in a stony floor.

From there, 2 possibilities.

1) Continue to the West through a skylight and a 6-metre step ending in a short gallery.

2) Enter to the East into a narrow passage that opens at the top of a second shaft of 6.5 metres and a third of 9 metres. At the bottom of the latter, a squeeze between blocks and a short crawl lead to the top of a 16-metre shaft. a small step follows it and marks the bottom of the pit.

WARNING:

On 18/02/2016, a huge block broke away from the wall at the start of the 1st shaft and other unstable blocks threaten to fall. a scaling has not yet been attempted to this day (2016).
