Gouffre du Château Bernard

This old fracture/fissure has a three-stage downclimb to reach the lowest point. In the chamber, at its opposite end and after a climb up, an impenetrable exit opens; on the left, a final descent leads to Un petit couloir at stage 3. The downclimbs are short and have sufficient holds; the few small constriction passages are comfortable.

a three-stage downclimb is needed to reach the lowest point. a natural anchor (AN) is possible on the tree (at least one rope protection will be needed inside; use an old beam from the house for anchoring at the shaft head); pass the rope through the left hole just after the opening so that, after the start of the downclimb, you find it again at stage 1. Once the rope is found again, the downclimb reaches the chamber, stage 2. In the chamber, at its end, opposite you and after a climb up, an impenetrable exit opens; on your left, a final descent to Un petit couloir at stage 3. Personally, and this is only my opinion, no rope needed to be used.

Two dig-outs were necessary for access, as the pit is unstable and requires the greatest caution.
