Descrizione
Morfologia
The low entrance is negotiated over about 7 metres: in 1965 it was entered by crawling, today it is on one's knees; the gallery then becomes a little more spacious. On the right, a crawlway returns parallel towards the entrance. At 15 metres from the entrance, an upright position becomes possible and the passage leads, with no obstacles other than two or three potholes sometimes filled with water, to the Pillault chamber (length 8 metres, width 3.5 metres, height 5 metres). A relatively narrow joint then leads to the lips of a shaft with a total height of 7 metres. At the bottom is the start of a low gallery that opens into a pocket. On the left, a very low gallery leads after a few metres to a new pocket, where an obstructed step currently puts an end point to exploration. On the right, a new very narrow gallery is being dug open.
Concrezioni
A few very modest speleothems are noted.
Idrologia
Independent of the Retrève system, the gouffre des Sans Ronce drains about 40 hectares of forest; its absorption depends solely on atmospheric disturbances (80 litres / second on 4 January 1968). It is not known where the swallowed waters go. Some hypotheses mention a direct spring in the Loire; others suppose a supply to the Beauceron water table.
