The Gouffre de Vau-Brou, at Beine, opens through an equipped doline and descends by a 12-metre shaft towards shored ledges and a shaft undergoing clearing.
Descrizione
Morfologia
A doline 5 metres by 4 metres, 1.50 metres deep, is equipped with a floor of crossbeams leaving a passable opening vertically above the Gouffre.
The bottom consists of stones mixed with clay.
Idrologia
The upper part of the Bel-Air plateau, where the Gouffre de Vau-Brou is located, is covered with ostrea marls to a maximum thickness of 10 metres. These marls form a first impermeable level: numerous ponds have been created on the plateau and the fallow land is very marshy.
A layer of 50 to 60 metres of fissured Portlandian limestone succeeds them at depth, explaining the collapses and dolines that have occurred on the plateau.
Beneath this layer, at the level of the valleys, are found the upper beds of the Kimmeridgian, which establishes a second impermeable level where in particular the ru de Beine flows and where the Fournier, Gagnot, Baudon and Passy springs have formed.
Progressione
A first shaft of 12 metres allows one to reach a ledge reinforced by metal shoring.
A steep clay slope, 6 metres long, leads to a second ledge, also shored, overlooking the shaft undergoing clearing, currently 4.20 metres deep.
