Morfologia
Large opening (4 m x 6 m) leading to an inclined shaft followed by a 3-metre vertical drop opening onto a steeply sloping large-block scree (gallery) down to -21 m.
Below the entrance drop and at -18 m, there are small lateral developments:
1) a small chamber, known as "Salle1", about 5 metres in diameter. It was somewhat larger originally, but part of the rocky ceiling has collapsed.
2) Three metres before the bottom of the gallery, on the South side, a low recess, known as "Salle 2", 3 to 4 metres in diameter.
a window in the ceiling of the scree slope was explored by artificial climbing; it ends in a tight fissure with no continuation.

The purpose of continuing the digging-out of the aven de l'Eclipse is to intersect the possible downstream section of the Gouffre de la Nécropole[ref]Guillaume CHARDIN - CDS83, Fichier des cavités du Var > « Gouffre de la Nécropole » (numéro 2016041) : https://www.fichiertopo.fr/display.php?details=1&indexid=960[/ref].
Storia
Below the entrance drop and at -18 m, small lateral developments yielded prehistoric remains, notably human skeletons, but the excavation work did not reveal any continuation of the cave.
The "Salle 2" contains burials.
