Descrizione

Morfologia

The Jean-Marc GUIBBERT chamber (25 m x 15 m x 28 m) is the largest on the causse. The Gypsum meander leads to the highest point of the cavity at +80. The Annie gallery is partially flooded in winter and, past a threshold, permanently flooded for several hundred meters. The gallery leading to the Sand sump is spectacularly sanded and has dunes. A cream-white flowstone features a multitude of magnificent gours. The CAF chimney, heavily decorated with concretions and often wet, arrives from the side.

Concrezioni

The cream-white flowstone and its many magnificent gours are discovered after the narrow threshold. The Hors Crue gallery is nicely decorated with concretions in places, and the CAF chimney is heavily decorated with concretions.

Idrologia

The PVC collector can be spectacular to see during recession. Three lake zones follow one another, crossed by means of chains. The starts of the PVC sumps are visited by swimming with a full wetsuit. A duck-under passable only at low water allows visiting a parallel gallery returning just below the Lauret no. 2 vent; 5 meters are missing to make the connection. In the Chaos chamber, the active stream is found again at the level of the PVC sumps. A fine sporting progression in opposition in the river leads to a last lake crossed by a traverse, then a vast gallery where the river flows leads to the start of the "X" sump. The South River is followed without difficulty to the Sand sump, impenetrable, whose access can be blocked 50 meters before at a flat-out squeeze sometimes filled with sand. A duck-under, crossed by free-diving with the help of a rope, precedes a low, clayey gallery of 400 meters.

Progressione

From the Sup entrance to the Crossroads: past the entrance gate, one follows for 300 meters small dry galleries to the PVC collector. To the right, one heads toward the lower network and the Biche pit; to the left, one passes successively three lake zones by means of chains. Just at the exit of the third chain, one can visit the starts of the PVC sumps by swimming with a full wetsuit. Opposite, a dry gallery leads to the Chocottes pit, crossed by a traverse; one must be light on the footholds so as not to twist them. Shortly after, one arrives at the crossroads.

The Lower network: at the Biche pit, climb in opposition in the fissure and cross the traverse, which gives access to the zone located between the spring sumps.

From the Crossroads to the "X" sump: this part does not require a wetsuit. Take left and follow the easy gallery to the Damnés pit, which is descended only halfway to take the Damnés fissure, a mythical passage fortunately much easier to cross than before with the new equipment. At the exit, turn right and follow the black PVC pipe, then pass into the Chaos chamber.

From the Crossroads to the Sand sump: this part obligatorily requires a wetsuit. From the crossroads, continue straight to the beginning of the Annie gallery. On the right, a low passage and a climb allow access to the Hors Crue gallery; on the left, one goes up the Annie gallery. At a chaos of blocks, leave the main gallery (which ends at a sump) and take a fissure on the left side that bypasses the sump; turn left when the fissure intersects another gallery. One progresses in a fine active gallery with gours to the narrow threshold, then descends a fine gallery interspersed with a few lakes to a crossroads. To the right, a small gallery allows access to the North network; to the left, one follows the South River to the Sand sump. Just before, a small gallery on the left side and a 5-meter pit lead to the Lobotomisés duck-under.

North network, JMG chamber and Gypsum meander: from the previous crossroads, take the small gallery that quickly ends at a duck-under; a rope facilitates the (easy) free-diving passage. Behind, one progresses for 400 meters in a low, clayey gallery, but without particular difficulty, which opens spectacularly into the Jean-Marc GUIBBERT chamber. An ascent on rope in full void (sensations guaranteed) allows access to the Gypsum meander.

Altri dettagli

The site of the "X" sump is superb and wild. The atmosphere is guaranteed in the PVC sumps as in the vast flooded gallery of the Annie gallery.
