Descrizione
Morfologia
To reach the entrance, which is of considerable proportions, 1.4 metres wide (0.6 at the base) by 4.5 high, a small drop must be overcome via a channel cut by water.
After passing a block we find ourselves in the vestibule. A sign in front of us indicates the name of the spring cave. Here the gallery is 4 to 5 metres high and 1.4 metres wide.
Further in, the gallery narrows to just over half a metre. After crossing the spring itself, which is a small pool, the floor rises to overcome more than 1.7 metres of drop.
On our left, and about 2 metres up, we have left a small hole perpendicular to the main gallery.
We are now facing a narrow gallery 2 metres long. On our right the joint becomes impenetrable and down it flows a deposit towards our feet. We follow the narrow gallery, which ends after overcoming an awkward passage with a maximum section of 40 centimetres.
We find ourselves at the top of a narrow little shaft 1.8 metres deep. Once upright, we continue without descending in level until the little shaft widens and we can descend more easily.
The floor is full of tiny gours and the ceiling is flat, following the bedding. If we look back we will see that the gallery ends beneath the narrow passage with a floor full of pebbles through which the small flow infiltrates. If we follow our route along the lower level (where the water comes from), the gallery soon narrows and the ceiling lowers until it reaches the end, where it communicates with the upper level through an impenetrable passage.
On the other hand, along the upper level we leave on the right a hole through which a small deposit flows down, making our progress difficult, and we will reach the end of the gallery when we see the connection with the lower level. Above us we will see an impenetrable conduit adorned with a small deposit.
Idrologia
At our feet flows a meagre stream of water towards the outside.
It seems to be an old spring that has gradually reduced its flow until it has currently become a small spring (Anglés, 1993).
Storia
It is already mentioned in the Guia Monogràfica de Sant Llorenç del Munt published by the Centre Excursionista de Terrassa in 1935.
