Caratteristiche

Località

You have to go up along the path that leads to the Roca del Corb. Shortly before reaching the turn-off for la Casa del Corb, on the right you can see some markers. A half-erased path descends steeply and then turns left and heads towards the foot of the cliff. A small stream is crossed, and following some markers you reach, first, the espluga de la masia del Cerveró, and a little further on, the Cerveró spring, also located inside a rock shelter.

On the ICC maps, at the point where this cavity and its neighbour of the Masia del Cerveró are located, they mistakenly place the Espluga del Boix, which is really in Sant Honorat.

Descrizione

Morfologia

Large rock shelter about 25 metres wide and 5 metres high in the outer area. The ceiling gradually lowers until the end of the passage, about 20 metres long.

Concrezioni

Water drips from the ceiling through some small stalactites. Even in periods of drought, some small drips from the ceiling can be observed.

Idrologia

A small stone construction with an overflow allows the collection of the water that seeps between the strata at the bottom of the rock shelter and the water that drips from the ceiling through some small stalactites. This spring was used by the former inhabitants of the Cerveró farmhouse. Even in periods of drought, some small drips from the ceiling and strong humidity on the ground can be observed. This has allowed the vegetation to cover the spring almost completely.

Storia

Known since time immemorial. The Cerveró farmhouse was inhabited until the 20s of the last century.
