Pit with a 5 x 2.5 m entrance beside the road to Estella, with verticals, scree ramps and galleries of limestone crusts.
Descrizione
Morfologia
The pit develops on the bedding plane with an entrance of 5 x 2.5 m, with its major axis in a N-S direction. In a NW direction, at 10 m, there is a doline with a circular plan of about 18 m in diameter and a depth of 2 m. Above the entrance emerges a small tree, which gives entry to a shaft with an 18 m vertical, which leads to a ramp with scree. In this first vertical, to its right, the shaft widens creating an overhang. The wall is covered with moss. The ramp has an inclination of about 30º and a length of about 15 m, formed by unstable scree with abundant rubbish remains. At the end of the ramp there is a second vertical that descends along a large limestone flowstone, with a drop of 26 m. At the bottom there is a scree cone about 2 metres high, in which we again find abundant rubbish and quite a few bone remains of the sierra's fauna. This chamber has a conical shape 6 metres in diameter by the height of the vertical. Through an entrance on a ledge in a 170º direction the next chamber is reached. It is a gallery with unstable and fragile blocks, and thin limestone crusts intercalated in clay deposits on the walls. In this chamber we find no exterior inputs as in the previous ones. To reach the floor of this gallery about 4 m must be descended. Advancing along the gallery, we find another small ledge with clay, in which steps have been cut, which leads us to the bottom, where there is a shaft with a depth of 15 m.
Concrezioni
On the ceiling of the gallery small and scarce stalactites appear aligned over fissure lines. The second vertical descends along a large limestone flowstone, and on the walls of the gallery there are thin limestone crusts intercalated in clay deposits.
Progressione
To reach the floor of the gallery about 4 m must be descended, installing a rope for this purpose because of how unstable the downclimb is. Advancing along the gallery another small ledge with clay is found, in which steps have been cut, which leads to the bottom, where there is a shaft 15 m deep.
