Caratteristiche

Località

Starting from the hermitage of San Benito, from the village of Larraona, to take the path that leads to the port of Opacua/Opakua, and after covering about 500 metres one reaches a borda; then head North for about 700 metres and find a metal door where, 5 metres away, the pit is located.

Descrizione

Morfologia

The pit has two entrances. The first is at the bottom of a doline 2 metres in diameter, with a narrow entrance and a gallery 6 metres long by 2 metres wide, with blocks and sand. The second entrance opens into a 15x15 chamber, its floor covered with sand, and at its end there is a vertical chimney 4 metres high that connects with the outside.

Idrologia

On the opposite side of the chamber there is a small stream that seeps away at the end of the gallery.
