Cave on the East face of the peña de Lakidain, with two galleries and rock sculptures of a wolf and a rabbit.
Descrizione
Morfologia
The mouth is a slit about eighty cm by five m high. It has two galleries, one N-S with a development of 16 m, and another smaller one. The ceiling common to both levels is about four meters high.
Altri dettagli
On the ceiling a series of stains of different colors can be seen, which perhaps were representations, now deteriorated, of different animals. Combining the stone protrusions with the possible painting, the heads of a bovid, a rodent and a small deer can be seen, among others. As a corbel of a covering that collapsed, it preserved the masterly sculpture of a wolf chiseled in a limestone of 43 cm x 18 cm; the erect ear, the eye and the muzzle of the right profile stand out perfectly with reliefs and white spots. Another free-standing sculpture of a crouching rabbit, life-size, remained in the cave. The castle of Irurlegui existed at the top of the peña.
