A wide, well-known rock shelter in Margalef, in the Priorat, 83 m wide, 15 m deep and 5 m high.

Caratteristiche

Località

From Margalef, take the T-713 towards la Bisbal de Falset. At km 9, after the bend and past the pont de les Joveres, we will find on our left a track that descends towards the riu de Montsant. We will follow it and, after about 200 m, before crossing the river, we will find the cave on our right.

Morfologia

It is a rock shelter 83 m wide, with a maximum depth of 15 m and a height of 5 m, with a fairly horizontal floor. In the central sector we can point out some blocks fallen from the ceiling and a large block in the W sector.

Storia

Known since time immemorial.
