Località

From Margalef we take the path that climbs after the spring towards the serra Major. This path soon gains height until reaching the hermitage of Sant Salvador; above it a majestic needle can be made out, called El Frare. A small trail climbs up the left side of the ravine for about three hundred metres until reaching it. The cavity lies between the needle and the cliff. Approximate coordinates.

Descrizione

Morfologia

It takes advantage of an original joint, refilled by the intense clastic processes that have produced the different levels that can be observed. A fissure perpendicular to the main one offers an exit to the outside behind the needle of El Frare, while along one side, descending through a narrow joint, the point of maximum depth is reached at -19 metres.

Storia

Known since ancient times, it is already cited by Ferraté in 1918.
