Località

Going along the BV-5207 road from Santa Maria de Corcó to Tavertet, between kilometres 8 and 9, right at the height of the Pla de la Perereda, we will go down a path that will take us directly to the Baumes de Balà or Cova de les Pixarelles. The caves, both the Nuria no. 1 and the Nuria no. 2, are located next to each other, halfway along the first ones, on the left-hand side of the path that descends along the riera de Balà.

Descrizione

Morfologia

The elongated entrance of 2x1 metres gives way to a chamber 8 metres high with a floor plan of 3x1.50 metres. At the end of this we find a crawlway where the cavity ends.

Storia

Cavity known since ancient times by the inhabitants of the area. The first speleological reference that exists of the cavity is from the exploration carried out by the GE Mollet on 7 September 1975.
