Along the GIV-5217 road from Ribes de Fresser to Queralbs, about 50 metres before reaching kilometre 4 we will turn left to take the track that climbs to Vilamanya; we must follow the track in the direction of the font de l'Home Mort.

After travelling about 4.3 kilometres from Vilamanya, we will find on the left the mouth of the mine, which opens a few metres above the track.

Descrizione

Morfologia

A classic mine gallery, flat and with some branches, leads us after about 200 metres to the point where it intersects a small cave. This cavity has a gallery that heads towards the SE, and a shorter one, higher up and laterally superimposed.

Storia

The mine, from which arsenic pyrite was extracted, was intensively worked from 1894.

After years of the mining operation having been abandoned, in 1977 it was explored and surveyed by members of the SIS del CET together with Oleguer Escolà (ERE-CEC).
