Caratteristiche

Località

To the SW of the Salomó farmhouse (Salamó according to the ICC).

Granera is reached from Castellterçol via the BV -1245 road. A few metres before the cemetery, a track leaves to the left, passing a series of chalets and continuing to the mas de la Riera. From here, follow the main track that runs alongside the stream and reaches the camp d'en Bonell, where there are route signs. The track leaving to the left climbs through four hairpin bends and reaches a ridge where a telecommunications tower is already visible and which we will gradually approach. About 50 metres before the junction leading to can Salomó, a path leaves to the left, descending towards the stream and after about 150 metres makes a very sharp turn to the right. At this point there is a small esplanade and a path that within a few metres brings you to the foot of the small cliff where the cavity is located.

Descrizione

Morfologia

At the foot of the small cliff there are 10 entrances along the 25 metres occupied by the cavity. The first 5 are tiny concavities of a few decimetres that do not penetrate into the main system. The remaining 5 entrances give access to a small system of reticulate galleries.

It is an ancient multiple spring, completely fossilised and excavated in the Eocene limestone sandstones. The upper part of the rock shelter forming the porch is made up of also Eocene conglomerates.

Storia

The oldest speleological reference we have for this cavity is the explorations carried out by GES - CMB in 1964 and 1965.

It seems that some archaeological work has yielded materials from the Upper Neolithic.
