Three cave mouths hanging above the Ega, excavated in a vertical gypsum slope and now gone due to a collapse.
Descrizione
Morfologia
These are three cave mouths hanging about 40 m above the Ega, on a vertical gypsum slope excavated by human hand, as in other villages of the Ribera. They form three chambers inside, with a certain incline and with a series of rectangular holes. Their mouth was practically inaccessible to humans.
Idrologia
Completely dry.
Altri dettagli
Already cited by Altadill as belonging to Villavieja/Hirizar. They are destroyed: these caves no longer exist due to a collapse. One opinion is that they were artificial and produced by the Arabs; another version says they are vestiges of an extinct population that preserves the name of the caves, perhaps Roman, given the many vestiges found in this area.
