On the C-62 road at the height of the Riera de Merlès we find a roundabout where the BV-4406 road coming from the S of Santa Maria de Merlès converges; we will continue N along the road that goes up the Riera de Merlès until passing the Riera de Merlès campsite. Immediately on the left we will find the la Molina farmhouse and a little further on we will cross the Rec de Casamitjana; on its left side a track begins that leads to Casamitjana i Sant Benet de Vilaplana. Straight away, on a very sharp bend, we will reach the Clot de la Coma where we will park (UTM-ETRS89 coordinates, 417641 - 4662276); from here we walk a few metres back to a livestock crossing with a movable slatted gate that we have just passed with the car; from this point a path sets off uphill to the left that we must follow to the coordinates (ETRS89, 417615 - 4662400); from here we will continue to the right on a steep climb until we reach the pit. Along the path we keep finding cairns.
