Morfologia
The cavity comprises two clearly distinct groups. On the one hand, a network formed by two sinks at the level of the Vallonnet glacial basin (Amont Darty and Amont du Tire la Botte) which join towards -200 to form a classic Dévoluy meander, interspersed with a few small verticals, and whose terminus occurs in an enormous fissure after 80 m of shaft. On the other hand, the entrance network of the baume des Forcenés, a fossil sink of the Torrent des Adroits which then forms the Thier Aval meander and ends logically in the same fissure. La Baume de France is itself a sink of the Torrent des Adroits, older; it opens 40 metres above and also ends in the same fissure.
Idrologia
La Baume de France is a sink of the Torrent des Adroits, older than the entrance network of the baume des Forcenés, itself a fossil sink of the Torrent des Adroits. It may be thought that initially the two branches of the amont Darty and of the amont du Tire la Botte, after their junction, first reached the torrent des Adroits, before cutting the upper meander of the aval des Enfoirés.
Progressione
The connection between the two groups is made by the fossil gallery which climbs not far from the entrance of the baume des Forcenés and goes on to reach the beginning of the Aval des Enfoirés.
