Località

We will leave the village of Tavertet along the track that leads to the pit farmhouse; here we will leave the car to continue on foot toward the N. along a path that passes behind the house and leads to the puig de la Creu and the summit of Rocallarga. Continuing along the same trail we will reach the turó de Cortils; just below and facing east we will find the rock shelter beside a monumental beech tree.

Descrizione

Morfologia

It is a rock shelter that presents remains of dry-stone walls that could correspond to an old corral that would give the shelter its name (cortils is a synonym of corral). The cavity has a length of 14 m by 7 m deep and a height of 4 m.

At 16 m in a straight line we find another rock shelter of more modest dimensions, called Bauma d'Arles; it has a length of 10 m by 6 m deep and 2.7 m in height.

Known since remote times by the people of the region. Referenced on the ICGC map, but with erroneous positioning.
