Caratteristiche

Località

From Sant Llorenç de Morunys, we will follow the LV-4241b road towards Coll de Jou; leaving the village, at kilometre 30.12 we find a 180º bend to the right; on the left-hand side a road heads off towards the sanctuary of Lord. We will cross the mountain through a small mine and come out in view of the tossal del Sòbol and the rasa de Torroella, right below. The path continues along the left slope of the rasa de Torroella, beside the crag, zigzagging, and caution is needed even though it is an asphalted road, but narrow. We will reach an electricity network pole, located above a large spur, to the right of a bend. The rock shelter is located about fifty metres below this large spur.

Descrizione

Morfologia

It is a fairly large rock shelter, with a porch 10 metres wide by about 4 metres at its highest point, but only 5 metres deep. The floor slopes towards the rasa de Torroella, with a drop of about 5 metres.

Progressione

We will leave the vehicle in a suitable place and return to the point mentioned above. To finish reaching it we will have to descend by the easiest place, since there is no path or trail that goes down directly or passes underneath. A few metres before arriving, at the bend there is a large pile of big rocks, with no vegetation. We will descend very cautiously, since there are some rocks that are not stabilised and can still roll down the slopes. At the end of the rocky area we will still find rubbish from an old uncontrolled dump. From here on we will have to use our sense of direction to the utmost to head in the direction below the spur, through the vegetation of holm oaks, boxwoods, kermes oaks and gorse that will keep blocking our way. Once we gradually approach the wall it will be easier to finish reaching it.
