Località

Above km 7 of the BV-1485 road from Sant Feliu de Codines is the historic complex of Sant Miquel del Fai. To reach the cavity it is necessary to follow the narrow road that continues from Sant Miquel del Fai up the Rossinyol stream for a stretch of 1 km. At this point there is a viewpoint and a downhill path that allows us to reach the large rock shelter at its western end in about 50 m.

Descrizione

Morfologia

Large rock shelter 158 m long, located beneath the Roca Gironella waterfall of the Rossinyol stream. The rock shelter is horseshoe-shaped, centred beneath the waterfall itself like a balcony, and practically the whole of the rock shelter is excavated at a certain height above the base of the waterfall; only in its W part does it have a steep slope on which descent to the base of the waterfall is feasible.

At a lower level, on the left hydrographic side, there is a second cavity also suspended above the waterfall.

Storia

Known since time immemorial. Very well known in the climbing sphere and where many routes have been opened on its roof.
