Località

From in front of the house of la Barata the track that goes to Can Pèlags starts; shortly after descending to the riera de les Arenes, the path that goes towards Can Bofí starts on the left. A few metres from the turn-off (further on we would go to the avenc del Cavall de la Barata), on the right, we will find a heavily overgrown torrent. Once past the brambles we would reach the foot of a rocky outcrop. Above it and following the torrent upstream, on the right is the entrance of the pit.

Descrizione

Morfologia

The pit has two entrances, although one of them is practically impenetrable. Through the other one a small 2 metre drop is descended that leads to a room of reduced dimensions. From the same side by which we descended, an inclined gallery exits that descends to 4 metres of depth, where it remains obstructed by debris, sand and mud.

Idrologia

The bottom of the gallery remains obstructed by debris, sand and mud, the product of the functions of a small temporary sinkhole of the torrent.

Storia

The only data we know are those of the exploration by members of the SIS – CET in January 1979. We do not know if it had been explored before.
