Caratteristiche

Località

Leaving via the track that runs from Campgràs towards the fondo de les Terradelles and becomes a wide path that follows the contour of the entire rubbish dump beside the high-tension line, the path leading to the Bassot de l'Arbre is left on the right; you pass over the col where the fondo de l'Infern begins and about 70 metres further on you follow a small path on the right that leads to the ridge (path of the avenc de la Sivinota). You follow the ridge downhill, keeping to the cairns without leaving the small path. Just when the slope moderates, you must traverse to your left until you reach the head of a fondo that leads to the Sot de l'Infern. About 50 metres past the axis of the streambed, not yet formed at this point, is the mouth of the pit.

Descrizione

Morfologia

The mouth gives access to a short ramp that connects with a shaft of irregular structure and descends to the -9 level, where an accumulation of blocks stops progress. Some 2 metres above the base of the shaft, a window in the N wall connects with a small chamber. From this small chamber situated at -7 metres, a small jointed shaft of about 2 metres, with a width of between 25 and 30 centimetres, and the Pas de la Calma, a very selective 30x35 centimetre hole, give access to the Sala dels Coral·loides, at a depth of -12 metres.

Concrezioni

The small chamber connects with quite a few relict formations. The Sala dels Coral·loides has some beautiful cauliflower-shaped formations.

Progressione

From the small chamber situated at -7 metres you continue descending through the trencacostelles, a small jointed shaft of about 2 metres, with a width of between 25 and 30 centimetres; then you must get through the Pas de la Calma, a very selective 30x35 centimetre hole; once through, with an easy 3-metre scramble you reach the Sala dels Coral·loides, which marks the end of the exploration at a depth of -12 metres.

Storia

Discovered and explored by members of the GIE – CE de Gràcia in 1962. On 2-11-2017 Enric Porcel and Carles Miranda (GEB) carried out a new survey of the cave that brought no further developments. On 23-11-2019 Rafa Fraguas paid a brief visit to the pit, intrigued by the mystery presented by the old survey, thinking that it might continue. On 11 January 2020 he decided to return and force the passage, since on the previous visit he had observed an evident continuation. After chipping the walls of the shaft a little, he reached the extremely narrow head of a further shaft; once the passage had been cleared, he reached the terminal chamber of the pit. He returned again on 19 January 2020 to survey and photograph it.
