Caratteristiche

Località

On the BV-4243 road that climbs from Castellar del Riu to the Rasos de Peguera, at kilometre 12.9, 250 metres before reaching the Coll del Sant Crist, on the right of the road a track closed to vehicles leads in 2.1 kilometres to the Collada dels Rasets, where there is a pool of water for much of the year.

From the Collada dels Rasets we will follow the track uphill towards the S, in the direction of the Torreta dels Enginyers (antenna installation); once we have arrived and are situated on the N side of it, we will continue in a NE direction for 27 metres where we will find the entrance of the cavity.

Descrizione

Morfologia

An entrance 1.20 X 0.80 metres gives way to an R.1 which, continuing with a gallery of 3 metres, connects with a joint perpendicularly. The gallery found at the base of the joint is 0.60 metres wide on average. The cavity is narrow and dangerous to explore because there are blocks in precarious balance.

Progressione

Here we will have to descend a pit of 9 metres that leaves us on a cone of debris. Continuing along the gallery 5 metres in a S direction, we will descend to the level -13.5 metres, ending in a small sinkhole. Situated again on the cone of debris, continuing along the other side in a NE direction, we will find the maximum depth and travel 12 metres until the gallery closes. Likewise, overcoming a rise of +2 metres, we find a gallery parallel to the previous one that after 5 metres has a steep slope, ending by connecting with the lower floor.

Storia

The first exploration was carried out by the SIRE – UEC de Sants, in the year 1969. In 1973 the SIE del CE Àliga explores it again and surveys it. On 18 March 2007 the GE Badalona together with the GREC survey it again, increasing the depth by 2 metres, and naming it with the name avenc R-7 de Rasets.
