Descrizione
Morfologia
From the start the cave is marked by narrow sections, but the P.35 at the very bottom makes the visit worthwhile. We can divide the cave into 3 fairly distinct parts. The first comprises the pou light and the pou semi-light. The first is a 13.5 m pit that is descended in opposition and the second a P.8. From here, the second part begins with a descending route between blocks that leads us to the third part, with the head of the P.10 m. Once at the base of this we pass between blocks and reach the head of the P.35 where the cave widens notably. At the base of the P.35 a narrow joint begins that leads to the point of maximum depth (elevation – 114.3).
Progressione
The pou semi-light is a P.8 in which we will belay with a 15 m rope and 3 carabiners. At the base of the P.10 we pass between blocks rigging a vertical handline to protect the progression. At the fractionation following the Y it is advisable to place a sling or footloop to facilitate progression. To descend from the head of the P.10 to the base of the P.35 we will need a minimum of 80 metres of rope and 13 carabiners. The cave is entirely equipped with bolts with 10 mm stainless steel plates. The activity in its entirety can take around 4 or 5 hours.
Storia
After the first searches in the lower area of the barranc de Cova Pintada, begun in 1985 by members of the Espeleo Club Tortosa, prospecting continued in the higher area while looking for possible connections with the CP.1. The third of these finds was the CP.7. It was explored at the same time as the CP.4 and the CP.6 during the year 1987. It was finished being surveyed in October 1987. In 2023 it has been re-rigged on the occasion of the 2nd Trobada Vallinera als Ports.
