Aven du Sarcophage

The fairly narrow entrance leads to a 15-metre pitch. Then comes a series of very narrow pits (10-15-5-20 metres) down to the -70 level. The crawl is followed by a 50-metre pit, then 3 pits (15 - 15 - 10 metres). A climb leads to a small chamber at the -175 level. The Puits du Pipeau (12m+50m) leads to a chaotic zone due to a marl layer. Then comes a P15, then a small chamber. Opposite, a series of small steps. A climb leads to the Salle Vourbichon. At -277m, a low passage crosses the marl layer (unstable supported scree), then a P40. Two continuations are possible: 1) a passage between blocks leading to a chamber, with various side passages, 2 pits going up and a P10, stopping at a constriction (with draught?); 2) a 6-metre climb leading to a P12 then a P32. The bottom of the cavity is at -362m.

Geology: Barremian with Urgonian facies.
