Aven des Quatre Termes

Entrance opening 0.9 m by 2.3 m. The Aven consists of a deep diaclase est (east-west fissure) with variable dimensions (width from 0.2 m to 2 m). This fissure is intersected by ledges formed by the accumulation of collapsed and wedged limestone blocks.

Some ledges consist of beds of alluvial pebbles and testify to a significant water flow.

The first shaft of 22 metres is intersected by 3 ledges at elevations of -5, -6 and -20 respectively. At the bottom of this first shaft, a horizontal scree slope 15 metres long, intersected by a shaft (the first network), opens onto a succession of small shafts forming the second network.

The first network begins with a shaft of 20 metres. This shaft is followed by a succession of small steps formed by collapsed and sometimes unstable blocks. This network ends in a scree slope, at the bottom of a narrow shaft of 8 metres, at a depth of -62m.

The second network consists of a succession of small narrow shafts opening onto a scree slope that completely obstructs the cavity at -58m.
