Aven de la Ligne

The entrance gives direct access to a pit about 20 metres deep, with a diameter varying between 2 metres and 3 metres, in which a few niches and a few speleothems are found. At about halfway down, a ledge divides the pit into two parts that doubtless join at the bottom. The narrow pit has not been explored. The lowest point of the cavity (-27 approximately) is an agglomerate of earth and stones; this part might perhaps merit a dig. At the bottom of the main pit, a severe constriction gives access to another chamber that seems to be the terminal point of another pit that has not been ascended; this pit could be in connection with the nearby Aven Poterie.

Deposits of white calcite can be observed all along the descent. The bottom of the pit is a large stalagmitic slab about 3 metres in diameter.

A 3-metre downclimb as well as a constriction allow access to the lowest point of the cavity (-27 approximately).
