Aven de Goule Sèche

The cavity develops in the Upper Bathonian limestones. It has a known development of 55 metres for a total depth of 33 metres.

At about 15 metres of depth, a small orifice about 60 cm in diameter, located on the left, allows the descent to continue in the shaft. On the right, a small chamber gives access to an ascending gallery of about 8 metres.

The main continuation leads to a shaft of about 12 metres. At a depth of about 20 metres, a lateral window allows access to a small pocket comprising an impenetrable start and a secondary shaft, also impenetrable, of about 3 metres of depth.

The underground access begins with a diverticulum about 5 metres long, which opens into the axis of an inclined shaft corresponding to a joint. This first passage can be descended by climbing, according to the historical description.

The dimensions and description are those published in December 1991 in the speleological bulletin La Baume Écrite n° 4. The current state of the cavity and its equipment has not been verified.
