Cavity of the Larzac composed of pits and chambers in a joint fissure, with a development of 250 metres.
Descrizione
Morfologia
The opening measures 1 m x 0.4 m and is surrounded by heather. A 37-metre pit widens from -3 into a 45 m x 15 m joint fissure forming a vast chamber whose bottom is at -45. According to Daniel Caumont, a large 37-metre pit, entirely empty, opens at the top of a large chamber with speleothems formed by a joint fissure 35 metres deep x 20 m × 25 m, whose lowest point is at -43. There is a stalagmitic mound 3 metres high. Further on, a joint-fissure chamber measures 7 m x 4 m. A fine joint fissure 40 metres long by 15 metres wide, a sort of vast pit rising about fifty metres, has an impenetrable floor at elevation -61. The development is 250 metres.
Concrezioni
The large chamber has speleothems and includes a stalagmitic mound 3 metres high.
Idrologia
Some galleries are temporarily active.
Progressione
After the 37-metre pit, a climb, a chamber, then a 13-metre pit. One then meets a constriction and a meander, then temporarily active galleries leading to the bottom of a vast shaft rising 30 m x 8 m (-57). According to Daniel Caumont, in the chamber, by climbing onto a stalagmitic mound 3 metres high, one passes a few constrictions among the blocks to reach a fairly narrow 13-metre pit. One emerges into a joint-fissure chamber 7 m x 4 m, followed by a short meander, followed by an uninviting clayey constriction necessary to reach a fine sloping passage. At the end of this passage, along which one progresses for about forty metres, a gallery rises to a small window through which one emerges into a fine joint fissure 40 metres long by 15 metres wide.
