Località

On the road from Lekunberri to Uitzi, at km 2700, a track branches off to the right towards the chapel of Santa Engracia. Shortly after entering this track, and once past an iron gate, about 100 metres from the road, another track branches off to the right towards the Uitzi mines. The track passes over a sinkhole and turns towards the Northeast. Before it begins to descend, leave the track and follow the crest on the left in a Northwesterly direction. Once the karst is reached, and after entering it about 20 metres, the mouth of the pit can be seen.

Descrizione

Morfologia

The mouth of the pit is very large, 5 x 5 m. The pit is of large proportions and is also choked by numerous angular clasts. The entrance is a 49-metre shaft, by which a debris cone formed by detrital and allogenic deposits is reached. There is also a chimney, which forms a parallel shaft, also choked at its bottom. Three metres from the floor there is a hanging window in which a major digging operation has been carried out, due to the air current detected at this point.
