Armée Céleste (?)

The through-trip involves a succession of pits: a first, very inclined P22 pit, then a P8, a third P12 pit whose base has a squeeze leading to a fourth P12 pit that continues into a small chamber. Further on, a fifth P24 pit is inclined with a 10m ledge. At its base, a short gallery leads to two parallel, inclined P9 pits. The balcony chamber is cluttered with blocks. The continuation crosses a zone of depillaring with a 2m step to climb, then a low gallery where you have to crawl.

At the low point, there can be almost 1 metre of water, which justifies wearing a pontonnière.

The entrance is via the tuyau de l'Armée Céleste. At the first junction, take the lower gallery and follow it to the right as far as the first pit (very inclined P22, handline to be rigged on bolts). Just at its base, go around a pit (handline in place) and take the gallery on the left. Descend the pit (P8, handline in place) and continue on the inclined plane to reach the edge of the third pit (P12). At its base, a squeeze leads to the fourth pit (P12) which continues into a small chamber. Ignore the 2 galleries going off to the right and left and descend to a junction; the two galleries meet up but the right-hand one is easier. You arrive at a sort of balcony over a chamber that opens on the left. Descend into this chamber, cluttered with blocks, to reach, opposite, a gallery that quickly leads to the top of the fifth pit (P24, inclined with a 10m ledge). At its base, a short gallery leads to two parallel pits (P9, inclined, can be descended in free). Descend the first pit and continue straight on into the scree. You then move through a zone of depillaring, descending then ascending (at one point you have to climb a 2m step), then descending again. Continue crawling in a low gallery. Further on, there are 2 fixed handlines. Immediately after the second, take a gallery going off to the right. Shortly after leaving this gallery, you have to enter a squeeze, on the right at ground level, which gives access to the exit gallery of La Treille. Exit via the tuyau de La Treille. Total time: 3h if you do not stray from the route.
