Shelter n°2 of the Vallon du Baou: a narrow passage leads to a small fitted-out room with a water reserve and a hearth.
Descrizione
Morfologia
A 70-centimetre-wide passage between two small dry-stone walls and 2 steps leads down into a room 3.50 metres long (almost east-west), with a height of 1.60 metres at the entrance down to 1 metre at the back on the left.
Idrologia
A water reserve on the right, well supplied by Un judicieux cheminement en tuiles (a clever tiled channel), is accessible through an interior hatch.
Altri dettagli
A rudimentary hearth is in the right-hand corner, just inside the entrance. Note a small hanging notebook where anyone can leave their thoughts. The shelter is fairly well maintained[ref]Guillaume CHARDIN - CDS83, Fichier des cavités du Var > "Abri n°2 du Vallon du Baou" (number 2137023): http://www.fichiertopo.fr/display.php?details=1&indexid=2240[/ref].
